New Low Price on Canon 5D Kit w/ 24-105mm L Lens

In the last few weeks, US prices from the usual best-price outlets for camera equipment - such as B&H Photo and Adorama - have been trending upward for the first time in months. Speculation has suggested that the price increases are in anticipation of coming Spring rebates from Canon similar to the rebate programs currently running in Germany, the UK, and most recently - Canada. This afternoon, however, an unwir3d reader sent in a tip on price lower than we've seen on the 5D previously, and it looks legit.

J&R Computer World currently has the 5D kit on sale for $2749, with free shipping. Yep, free shipping too. As a prospective 5D buyer with the inability to commit, I've been watching prices on the 5D for a while now and haven't seen B&H and Adorama drop below $2799 for this kit (they are both currently selling the 5D kit for $2899).

The 5D with 24-105mm L lens kit is a popular buy due to the high resale value of the included lens. That big auction site some of you have heard of is usually loaded with people unloading their 24-105mm kit lenses for prices as high as $1000.

With the way these prices fluctuate, and the widespread buzz about coming rebates, if you're thinking about buying the 5D you may want to jump on this one now.
