Bell Mobility Releases HTC Touch

The HTC Touch was released by Bell Mobility on Nov. 16th, part of the new, and sure to be enormous, wave of touch gadgets started by the iPhone. The Touch operates on Windows Mobile 6.0 and has a screen sensitive to both the finger and the stylus, unlike the iPhone. Apparently you will need a stylus to navigate the tiny on-screen keyboard. There are finger friendly features to the Touch though - the software is easily navigable by taps and finger gestures.

HTC created a home screen with large touchable targets and finger friendly navigation, it is Mobile 6.0 that still has more stylus friendly navigation in programs and settings, IE, email, etc.

One interesting feature is the Today themed home screen. There is quick access to weather and calendar events and an easy swipe action of the finger brings up a spinning cube (albeit a 3 sided cube). One face of the cube has all of your contacts with photos you can tap to bring up the rest of their info. A flick of the finger to the left or right will bring up the other faces, either the application launcher or the multimedia face.

The Touch is also smaller than previous PPCs at about the same size as a Motorola RAZR V3. It has WiFi, Bluetooth and a 2 megapixel camera and is triband 900/1800/1900 MHz. Bell offers the Touch for $399.95 with no contract and also offers $7/month unlimited data, which is freakin' amazing. See more about the Touch here.
