Apple Announces 4G iPod Nano
Apple today introduced its new fourth generation iPod Nano. This incarnation is the thinnest yet and a bit taller than its predecessors. It has a curved aluminum and glass enclosure and comes in nine colors including silver, purple, blue, green, orange, yellow, pink, (PRODUCT) RED and black. It also sports a two inch display, larger than the former Nanos.

Aside from changes on the outside, the 4G Nano has undergone some interface changes as well. It incorporates Genius technology which, with just a single click, will create playlists of songs from your library that go together. Like the iPod Touch and iPhone, the Nano also features landscape view for Cover Flow, which automatically starts when you tilt the device. The accelerometer will also send the Nano into shuffle mode with a simple shake. Apple CEO Steve Jobs believes "users are going to love the amazing new design, the automatic Genius playlist creation, as well as automatically going into Cover Flow with just a turn of the wrist.”
The 4G Nano also works with iTunes so you can import and manage and buy your music, videos and games. The new iPod offers up to 24 hours of music playback on a single charge. The 16 GB model will hold up to 4,000 songs, 14,000 photos and 16 hours of video while the 8GB model holds up to 2,000 songs, 7,000 photos and eight hours of video.
The 4G iPod Nano will be available immediately and will retail for $149 for the 8GB model and $199 for the 16GB model.
