Dell Serving Up Big Time Black Friday Deals on 1080p HDTVs
We're doing our best to keep you updated on the best deals for this Black Friday, and though there's a lot to wade through, every now and then deals are coming along that are worth passing on. You've read recently about the Garmin GPS price slashing and the big Apple Black Friday event. Just in time for the clock to strike midnight here on the east coast, and Black Friday to officialy begin, we've got one more sale event we've learned about that is definitely worth speaking up about. Amongst all its Black Friday sale events, Dell is quietly taking huge chunks out of the prices on many HDTVs in their inventory.

There are a lot, and I mean a lot, of "sales" on HDTVs this holiday weekend. Don't get me wrong, there are actually a lot of good deals to be had. The problem is, most of the deals are on 720p units. Call us tech snobs, call us what you will. But, seriously, what's the point in buying a 720p HDTV? 720p isn't even full HD, and are there even any networks that still broadcast in lowly 720p? You're essentially buying an HDTV to try to catch up with technology while, presumably unknowingly, buying an outdated TV.
Not to worry. You can still get some amazing deals on full 1080p HDTVs. Enter Dell. Though Dell too is offering deals on 720p nightmares, there are multiple very attractive Black Friday to Cyber Monday deals to be had on 1080p sets, all of which kick off in just an hour or so (12:01 am on 11/28). We've identified three 1080p sets Dell has truly slashed prices on for this event which conveniently span a wide range of sizes and features. Thus, there's likely to be one for all sorts of budgets and sets of expectations.
Dell Black Friday to Cyber Monday 1080p HDTV Sale Event
$800 off the 52" 1080p Sony Bravia HDTV
$629 off the 42" 1080p Sharp LC42SB45U HDTV
$150 off the 32" 1080p Vizio VOJ320 HDTV
The best deal of the bunch, and the one that we expect will appeal to most of you, is the $629 off the 42" Sharp HDTV. Hailing from the same lineage as Sharp's flagship Aquos line, the LC42SB45U is a stunning unit that has gotten excellent reviews all around. We're so stoked about this deal, we awarded it #6 in our Top 12 Black Friday/Cyber Monday Tech Deals of 2008 feature.
If 42" is just too small for your 5200 square foot home in the burbs, fret not. Dell is knocking an even more impressive $800 dollars off the gigantic 52" Sony Bravia 1080p set, which has also been well received
by critics and customers alike. Should you be a city dweller, like us, and have to conserve space in your non-expansive downtown apartment -- or, god forbid, are actually looking for a "smaller" HDTV for your kitchen or bathroom (yes, people put HDTVs in their bathrooms, you didn't know that? -- the 32" Vizio might fit your bill properly.
All of the sets featured here offer up a plentiful HDMI inputs, with the exception of the Sony, which offers 4! Quality HDTVs, huge discounts. As we keep saying again and again, avoid the lines at the big box stores and stay home to find the real deals (like these) online. It's November, it's cold out there!
