Nokia has announced that it will be adding to its already well respected Navigator line of phones. The Nokia 6710 Navigator, according to Nokia vice president Markku Suomi, "is second to none and provides everything you would expect from a dedicated GPS device with all the benefits of a converged mobile device."

The 6710 features all the latest innovations that Nokia Maps has to offer, including real time drive and walk navigation and full regional maps. The handset also features hardware aspects such as a dedicated navigation and a touch area for easy zooming. It also features a large display that is optimized for outdoor viewing. Nokia Maps' recent integration with Ovi allows the user to plan a trip on their PC and then sync with the Navigator. Other Maps updates include high-resolution aerial images, 3D landmarks for over 200 cities, terrain maps, weather service, premium travel and events content and traffic and safety warnings. The 6710 Navigator also features a compass that works in conjunction with Maps, greatly improving the pedestrian navigation experience. The Nokia CR-111 car holder is included in-box and according to Suomi, "[Nokia wants] to make the experience as simple and effective as possible, which means the navigation licenses are pre-installed and ready to use as soon as you turn on the Navigator." The Navigator also features a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash.

Nokia also announced the 6720 Classic, a bar style phone that will be available Q2 for around $310 USD. The 6710 Navigator is a vertical slider and will be available Q3 for about $380 USD.
