The PowerShot D10 is Canon's first waterproof digital camera. Designed for the active lifestyle, the D10 is waterproof up to 10 meters, shockproof for drops of up to 1.22 meters (about 4 feet), dustproof, and it will operate in temperatures as low as -10°C, making it the perfect camera for anything from snorkeling to mountain climbing. The D10 is a 12.1 megapixel camera that features a DIGIC 4 processor. It has a 3X zoom lens with an image stabilization system that prevents camera shake. The D10 also offers an array of intelligent features that allow you to take the optimal shot. Smart Auto mode uses Scene Detection Technology to analyze the subject scene's brightness, hue, contrast, etc., then selects the best mode (from 18 possible) for that particular scene to ensure you get the best picture possible. Motion Detection Technology senses motion in both the photographer and the subject and selects the appropriate settings to avoid blur. Face and Blink Detection assure you get the optimum pictures of people without their eyes being closed and i-Contrast will brighten darker areas without blowing out the brighter spots. The 2.5" PureColor LCD II view screen is protected by a 2mm shield and is twice as bright as the normal PureColor LCD II, making it perfect for sunny days outdoors. According to Head of Canon Consumer Imaging Europe Rainer Fuehres, "[The Powershot D10] brings the hallmarks of the PowerShot range – exceptional imaging and ease of use – to places where many other cameras simply cannot go.”
