Angstrom's EverOn technology could replace lithium batteries by 2010
Angstrom Power Inc., a Vancouver based micro fuel cell company, has developed a new technology dubbed EverOn that, so far, promises to replace lithium batteries in the very near future. The technology offers twice the run time of lithium batteries and a recharge time of about 10 minutes.

What's more is that they have already completed a six month test of their fuel cells fully integrated into mobile devices. The test was run with Angstrom's Micro Hydrogen platform fully integrated into MOTOSLVR L7 handsets, without altering any of the handset's dimensions. The Micro Hydrogen platform includes a new fuel cell architecture, micro fluidics and a refillable hydrogen storage tank. The results showed twice the talk time of MOTOSLVR L7s powered with lithium batteries.
Angstrom is now working with leading battery manufacturers, portable device makers including Motorola and service providers on the commercialization of the Micro Hydrogen platform. The commercialization efforts took a big step forward last November when the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) created new regulations that will allow Angstrom Power's devices to be transported on commercial aircraft. Apparently the hydrogen storage tank doesn't hold that much hydrogen.
