LG Announces Next Generation Chocolate
LG Electronics has announced the successor to the company's most popular phone ever, the LG Chocolate. It is expected to be unveiled some time in August.
The same design team that produced the original Chocolate has designed the newest incarnation. Although little information was provided in this latest press release it is apparent that although the new phone will feature a "highly distinctive design that takes optimal advantage of the device’s features and performance," it will still stick to the minimalist style and "iconic design" of the original Chocolate. The original Chocolate, which debuted in 2006 won both the Red Dot Design and iF Design Awards.
LG hopes its new Chocolate will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor. According to President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, Scott Ahn, "[LG is] returning to an all-time favorite to re-create the original experience... Over 21 million Chocolate handsets have been sold across 54 countries to date and we believe the next generation Chocolate will have a tremendous impact on the market, extending the growth that LG experienced during the first half of this year.”
The new Chocolate will be the fourth model in LG's Black Label Series which includes the original LG Chocolate, the LG Shine and the LG Secret. More information, specs and pics can be expected in the weeks leading up to the phone's launch sometime next month.
