Wirefly will be offering the BlackBerry Storm 2 from Verizon for just $.99 all day on Black Friday. This is quite a deal for a phone that just hit the shelves, as its normal price is $279. The deal requires a 2 year service agreement and ends at midnight on Friday.

BlackBerry Storm 2

The BlackBerry Storm 2 is the successor of the Storm, which was considered a big disappointment by most. The Storm 2 vastly improves on many of the weak spots of the original. For starters, the Storm 2 has a much improved SurePress touch screen that features electronic activators beneath the screen that simulate a clicking action, whereas the original had a mechanical suspension system that allowed the screen to physically move. The new screen also supports multitouch which is useful for cutting, copying and pasting.

The Storm 2 is a 3G phone that also supports Wi-Fi, which is a first for CDMA BlackBerries. The operating system has been upgraded to OS 5.0 which allows for speedier page rendering, eliminates a lot of the general bugginess of its predecessor and supports BlackBerry widgets and Google Gears.

The phone has 2 GB onboard memory, 256 MB flash memory and ships with a 16 GB MicroSD card. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera and is capable of video recording. It also features GPS and comes with BlackBerry Maps and Verizon's VZ Navigator service, which provides voice turn-by-turn directions.

The BlackBerry Storm 2 will be on sale all day Black Friday on Wirefly for $.99 with a two year contract.
