Apple increases storage on iPhone, iPod Touch
Today in Cupertino, California Apple announced updated versions of both the iPhone and the iPod Touch. The storage capacities of both devices will be doubled. Increased storage calls for increased price, of course, so Apple updated that as well.

The new iPhone will have 16 gigabytes and retail for $499 whereas the 8 GB version currently retails for $399. So you are essentially paying $100 for 8 more gigs of storage. You get a slightly better deal on your storage with the iPod Touch, where you will pay $499 for a 32 GB device as opposed to $399 for the 16 GB Touch and $299 for the 8 GB version. So $100 for 16 more gigs. Both devices will come with the updated software that Apple announced last month, including a newer maps application and the ability to play movies from iTunes' rental service.
The iPhone and the iPod Touch are available both online and at Apple retail stores. The iPhone is also available at AT&T retail stores.
