Verizon Wireless introduces new unlimited plans
Verizon Wireless intends to "change the way people think about wireless" and move the industry forward with its new unlimited voice and data plans, according to Mike Lanman, chief marketing officer. Today, Verizon Wireless announced several of these new plans.

The Nationwide Unlimited Anytime Minute Plan will allow customers all their calls, anytime, anywhere in the U.S., including landline phones for a flat rate of $99.99 per month. Two new BroadbandAccess plans include one for $39.99/month that allows 50 MB data usage and the other for $59.99/month that allows 5 GB data usage. According to Lanman, "the new flat rate voice plans truly free customers from the worry of counting minutes, while the new data plan options allow more customers to experience the freedom of mobile broadband. These enhancements are also an acknowledgement that wireless has evolved and more people than ever depend on it as a primary means of communication in every aspect of their lives.”
BroadbandAccess speeds will remain the same for the two new data plans. Currently customers enjoy download speeds of 600 kbps to 1.4 mbps and upload speeds of 500-800 kbps. These speeds allow a 1 MB email attachment to be downloaded in roughly eight seconds and uploaded in under 13 seconds. Lanman believes "the $39.99 plan is perfect for the occasional or light data user, while the $59.99 plan meets the needs of the majority of heavy data users. The plans are easy to understand and give customers the technology they need to manage their lives – both business and personal.”
The new plans are available through Verizon Wireless immediately.
