How do I unlock the G1 phone?

Unlocking the HTC G1 turns out to be quite easy. You will have to purchase an unlock code from Unlock-TMobileG1.com first. You have to place an order with your IMEI code, then you will receive an 8 digit unlock code. See how to find your IMEI code here.

After receiving your code you have to insert a non T-Mobile SIM card into the G1. The phone will prompt you for the unlock code which you enter and then hit unlock. Your device should be unlocked at this point and the screen will read "Network Unlock Successful." The following video shows you the process:
