Nokia Adds E71 and E66 Email Optimized Phones to Lineup
Nokia today unveiled its two newest "multimedia computers," the E71 and the E66. Both phones are optimized to access a range of personal and professional email solutions including Microsoft Exchange. The Mail for Exchange mobile email client comes preloaded on both the E71 and E66. In addition, both phones support email accounts from over a thousand internet service providers, as well as Yahoo! mail, Gmail and Hotmail. Both devices support the Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email solution as well as third party email solutions like System Seven and Visto Mobile and come with a new "switch mode" feature that allows you to flip between personal and work home screens. According to Andrew Brown, Director, Wireless Enterprise Strategies Global Wireless Practice, Strategy Analytics, "With mobile email penetration and access to wireless applications growing at a rapid rate, Nokia is well positioned with its extensive lineup of market leading handsets to address the needs of consumers, high-end users and mobile professionals alike."

In addition to practicality for the mobile lifestyle, Peter Sorensen, Senior VP, Devices, Nokia, believes that, “Equally important, people want well-crafted devices that are as beautiful to use as they are to behold. Stainless steel was chosen as the core material for these devices, giving them additional strength and a touch of class." Both devices have a stainless steel case with etched graphics and are available in grey or white. The E71 is a bar style phone while the E66 is a slider, and both devices feature full QWERTY keyboards. Both phones feature a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and a flash. Connectivity on both devices includes WCDMA (max download 384 kbps; upload 384 kbps), HSDPA up to 3.6 Mbps and WLAN 802.11b/g

The E71 is 114 mm x 57 mm x 10 mm, weighs 126 grams and has a 2.36" QVGA display, while the E66 is 107 mm x 49 mm x 13 mm, weighs 121 grams and has a 2.4" QVGA display. The BL-4U, 1000 mAh, Li-Ion battery of the E66 allows for up to 11 days standby (GSM) and 14 days WCDMA and 7.5/3.5 hours talk time. The E71 sports a BP-4L, 1500 mAh, Li-Po battery that allows for up to 17/20 days GSM/WCDMA standby and 10.5/4.5 hours talk time.
