AT&T Mobile TV to Premiere May 4th
Well past its original launch date of February 5th, AT&T is now set to launch its Mobile TV on Sunday, May 4th. In conjunction with MediaFLO USA, AT&T will offer round the clock access to popular shows on major networks.

The Mobile TV service will offer shows from networks such as CBS Mobile, ESPN Mobile TV, FOX Mobile, NBC 2Go, NBC News 2Go, MTV Networks' COMEDY CENTRAL, MTV and Nickelodeon. In addition, AT&T will offer two exclusive channels, PIX and CNN Mobile Live, on MediaFLO USA's FLO TV™ service. AT&T to Offer Mobile TV by May
AT&T in conjunction with MediaFLO USA Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm, yesterday announced the launch of AT&T Mobile TV with FLO, which is a mobile television service that features high quality live programming. The mobile TV service is set to launch in May and will be available on two new handsets, the LG Vu and the Samsung Access.

PacketVideo unveils mobile TV broadcast receiver
During the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week PacketVideo introduced a pocket sized mobile broadcast receiver. The device promises to turn WiFi enabled phones and media players into mobile TVs. According to PV CEO James C. Brailean, Ph.D, “removing the barrier of upgrading to an entirely new handset will significantly accelerate the adoption of mobile broadcast services by mainstream consumers.”

The device works by decoding digital TV signals and converting them for use on phones or other media devices, then sending them via a wireless signal such as WiFi to the playback device. PacketVideo
AT&T set to Launch Mobile TV

LG, Harris announce mobile TV
Yesterday at the CES LG announced its partnership with Harris Corp. to bring television broadcasts to mobile devices. Dubbed MPH for Mobile Pedestrian Handheld, the technology will require handset manufacturers to install a reception chip in their devices.

Harris, an established manufacturer of broadcasting equipment, will be working with broadcasting stations (apparently hundreds are involved in the partnership) to develop device signals. MPH
